The Wines
First Bracket
2025 Rowe Wines Karridale Chardonnay
This is a delightfully elegant and keenly refined chardonnay that delivers with Karridale cool-climate restraint. The aromas show nice cut lime and nectarine with a little meringue-like character. The palate is finely crafted, with a mineral, slightly oyster-shell edginess giving it definition and supporting its linear structure. Precise and focused, with chalky, crisp acidity.

2025 Rowe Wines Wilyabrup Chardonnay
An immediately more powerful and generous style compared with the slightly more linear Karridale chardonnay. Generous and intense it might be, but there is refinement and restrained poise that captures a distinctive house style. Butterscotch, lime and pear characters on the nose, followed by a more deeply complex palate of ripe stone fruit, a little brioche and a trace of butterscotch. Crisp acidity sustains a focused, long finish.

2024 Rowe Wines Karridale Chardonnay
Silver Medal Margaret River Wine Show 2025
This is an impressive debut chardonnay from Richard Rowe, one of the industry's most experienced winemakers, who has decided to do his own thing after many years in the industry. This wine captures the cool southern influence of the Karridale region, producing a wine of elegance and youthful vibrancy. There's a lovely mix of lime, pear, grapefruit, and a little lifted spice on the nose. And then you get into the palate, which is finely controlled and quite linear, with a saline minerality and a mix of fresh brioche, a little quince, and that lime-infused roasted cashew combination.
