The 2023 Cape Falls Chardonnay is hand-crafted from Gingin clone fruit grown less than 2km from the Indian Ocean. A site so unique it cannot be replicated.
Every detail of Cape Falls reflects precision and patience: hand-picking, whole-bunch pressing, and wild fermentation in fine French oak.
This is a wine that captures its place — the force of the ocean, the calm of the inlets, through a style that is elegant, long, driven, and quietly powerful.
With just 480 bottles available, this is a rare expression of place and intention.
The inaugural 2023 release stands as a watershed moment for the vineyard — a deeply considered, single-site Chardonnay available only through allocation.

Jeremy Muller is the founder and driving force behind Peccavi Estate. After 26 years working in global financial markets, he left the corporate world to pursue a long-held dream of creating some of Australia’s finest wines.
In 2005, that vision led him to a high-elevation vineyard in Yallingup, Margaret River, where he established Peccavi. Since then, the estate has earned a James Halliday 5-star rating, been recognised as a Rising Star of Australian Wine by Gourmet Traveller WINE, and received accolades such as “Best of the Best” from Halliday and Benchmark Chardonnay of Australia from The Wandering Palate.
Today, Jeremy’s focus is on meticulously matching variety and clone to site, and on championing wines that marry luxury, terroir and longevity — a philosophy that underpins the creation of Cape Falls Chardonnay.
World-class vines, cultivated in the heart of Margaret River.
Wines bearing the 'Peccavi' label are produced from 100% Estate grown fruit, hand harvested, often in the cool of the night, from specific parcels within the blocks of vineyards, making the production of these wines limited by the individual vineyard sites.
Peccavi hand sorts to select only the best grapes to craft their award-winning wines, applying traditional methods that are sustainable and using only the finest French oak.

Appearance: Very pale with flashes of green.
Nose: Takes coastal cues of sea breeze and coastal heath, citrus blossom and mineral intensity.
Palate: Super fine , the palate frolls out in layers of white nectarine and scratched lime skin. Fine citrusy acidity pulls the palate long whilst being framed by a talc like phenolic which ensures the palate is super long and mightily intriguing. The wine needs time in bottle to fully unwind and settle and will evolve wonderfully over the next 10-15 years, with a life well beyond 30 years.

High density: 2m rows and 1m vine spacing, resulting in 5000 vines per hectare.Aspect and location - Gentle undulation, protected site and maritime- less than 2km from the Indian Ocean.
Soil: grey sandy clay topsoils overlaying moderate clays.
The Chardonnay site is ideal for acid retention, minerality and tightly coiled elegant wines.
The vines were established on a carefully selected site and have allowed for the production of hand-crafted chardonnay with minimal viticultural input. The unique terroir is shaped by the coastal location, and tied to the unique meso-climatic

Crafted with precision and intent, the 2023 Cape Falls Chardonnay reflects both the ambition of its makers and the individuality of its coastal site. Fruit was hand-picked from high-density Gingin clone vines and delivered to the winery in small crates before being chilled overnight to preserve freshness and purity. Whole bunches were gently pressed and the juice transferred directly to a selection of new and seasoned French oak puncheons and barriques (40% new).
Fermentation proceeded naturally over three weeks with minimal stirring, highlighting the texture and structure of the fruit while maintaining its mineral drive. The wine was sulphured in July and remained untouched by malolactic fermentation, retaining its energy and tension. The final blend represents a seamless balance between power and restraint — a Chardonnay built for longevity and finesse.
