Decanter has declared 2023…

Cassandra Charlick, Decanter, September 8 2025

The 2023 New Release Parterre Chardonnay was placed in Decanter’s top 3 wines of the region - described as
“Expressive, powerful, textural and complex, with purity, balance and excellent persistence”, by Cassandra Charlick and awarded 97 points.

The 2022 Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon (PRE-RELEASE) won a GOLD Medal and 95 points at The International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).

The Wines (Menu TBC)

On Arrival

2023 Parterre SSB
A 70/30 split and made and aged in a variety of French barrels, some new. Plenty of flinty, savoury, woodsy/spicy oak and herbal aromas, alongside citrus and stone fruit. It’s rather racy in this youthful stage, with bright acidity throughout, yet a slip of texture underneath from the barrel fermentation adds some depth.
92 Points - Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion

1st Bracket

2025 Innovation Estate Chardonnay (PRE-RELEASE)

2023 Parterre Chardonnay (New Release)
Soft nougat, silken and creamy with light florals, fresh-baked sourdough and lemon curd. Delightful fruit sweetness – delicate and pure with sea salt from the core of the fruit. Voluminous yet light with powder puff and talcy notes. Green spice leads to a lovely long, clear glossy line. Silken, glassy, smooth with oodles of clarity, delicate spice and lifted acidity. Gentle sea spray, pure and nuanced. A beautiful wine that speaks of the vineyard. Single vineyard, dry-grown Gingin clone, wild yeast-fermented, no malo, no stirring. 60% barrique, 40% puncheon for nine months.
Top 3 Wines Margaret River and 97 Points - Cassandra Charlick, Decanter | August 2025
Dried pear and citrus with a coverlet of spice and nougat. Medium-bodied, so even and fluid, delivering ripe lime and melon flavour with quiet authority, oak layered in neatly, fresh and flinty, tight and juicy on a long finish. Hits the sweet spot all right.
95 points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
2022 Palladian Chardonnay
Immediately strikes with the greater intensity and more focused precision which is part of the linear structure of this wine. It’s deeply complex already with a minerally, and slightly citrus and savoury combination. That heightened chalky minerality really says chardonnay at the highest level. There is power and drive here, yet it’s delivered with such sophisticated elegance. This is a tremendously promising wine. It is in the modern linear finer style.
97 Points - Ray Jordan, rayjordanwine.com
From a single 100% Gingin vineyard. Tightly wound – deserves time to show its true colours. Silvery, fine and silky; a wine for Chablis fans. River pebble minerality, crushed blanched almond and toasty oak laced with spice. Citrus fruit, lemon pith and pip, white peach crunch and a lick of flint. Lovely purity of fruit among the oak toast. Plenty of energy.
96 Points - Cassandra Charlick, Decanter
So much going on here, from hazelnuts, lemon curd, salted caramel and baked apples to toasted brioche on the nose. It’s full-bodied, buttery and delicious, with lively, bright acidity. Intense. I like the salty caramel undertones on the long and sophisticated finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
96 Points - Claire Nesbitt, JamesSuckling.com

2nd Bracket

2024 Cab Merlot (PRE-RELEASE)
2023 Innovation Cabernet Sauvignon (New Release)
Vibrant layers of fresh plums and blackberry unfold, beautifully complemented by notes of dark chocolate, dusty cocoa, and black liquorice. Firm yet velvety tannins provide a refined structure, leading to a long, satisfying finish. Enjoy its vibrancy now or cellar it for even greater rewards in the years to come.

3rd Bracket

2022 Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon (PRE-RELEASE)
GOLD Medal and 95 points - The International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC)
Intense aromas of plum, blackberries, and roasted coffee lead to a concentrated palate of dark berry fruits, mocha, and a hint of leather. The finish is firm yet vibrant, with savoury undertones and a buoyant structure that lingers delightfully.

2021 Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon
Silver Medal - Decanter World Wine Awards 2025
A beautiful Parterre this vintage. It’s heady with violets, mulberries, fresh herbs with rolled tobacco and some nori, even blueberry muffins of all things, plus cedary oak. The palate is mid-weighted with fine tannins and equally fine acidity and is balanced all the way through. A wine of harmony that will last some distance.
96 Points - Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion
2016 Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon
Includes 7% petit verdot, 5% cabernet franc and 4% malbec. Tasted at the end of a group of cabernets, it provided the essence of cabernet missing from the other wines. After 18 months in new and used French oak, it presents all the tension between cassis/blackcurrant on the one hand, and finely etched cabernet tannins on the other. The balance and mouthfeel are exceptional.
97 Points - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion

4th Bracket

2022 Palladian Cabernet (New Release)
Classic Margaret River with fine oak allowing fruit purity to hum through. Black plum, cassis, a dense granite mineral weave with rock salt lift and perfume of lavender and thyme. Innate prettiness and fine detail though young and tightly coiled. Rosehip, crushed poppyseed, violet, cranberry and fine oak integration. Al dente-tight with tailored, structural tannins and hand-holding acidity gently guiding through. Single vineyard, dry-grown Houghton clone, wild yeast ferment, 40 days on skins, aged for 18 months in 500-litre puncheons.
95 Points - Cassandra Charlick, Decanter (Aug 2025)

2020 Palladian Cabernet
Bright elegant and stylish. A brilliant wine with fruit that soars from the glass. High end red fruits with a minerally chalky tannins edge. It’s super concentrated but the winemaking has brought it to life with its energy and vibrancy, strong features. Fine chalky tannins thread seamlessly through the firm palate. A very young wine that needs so much time but it’s drinking very nicely now. Made as an elegant and stylish wine with a precision and medium weight structure that is so impressive. It comes from a single vineyard with the same rows each year.
97 Points - Ray Jordan, rayjordanwine.com

To Finish...

2025 Innovation Ice Pressed Chardonnay (New Release)
Pale gold, clear and luminous in the glass, this wine captures the essence of late summer sunlight. The nose is layered and inviting, offering lemon oil, lime sorbet and kaffir lime leaf over deeper notes of poached pear, quince paste and a mineral thread of limestone that grounds the wine in its place of origin. The palate is medium-bodied and textural, delivering flavours of lime crème brûlée, candied citrus rind, vanilla bean and honeycomb. While richly flavoured, it retains a beautiful sense of energy and precision, finishing long and refreshingly clean. A distinctive and pure expression of Chardonnay, this dessert-style wine walks the line between indulgence and elegance. Perfect as an aperitif or a graceful finish to a meal.
